The archipelago is a group of 19 islands (13 large and 6 small) that is an iconic tourist destination. Its closet point to mainland is 600 miles from the west coast of Ecuador. It features some of the world’s most unique and endemic wildlife species, like the Galapagos giant tortoise, Galapagos penguin, blue footed booby, Darwin's finches.
We will be going during "dry" season. From June to December the southern trade winds bring the colder Humboldt Current north to the Galapagos. This means that the water is cooler (which brings a multitude of marine life), and a layer of high atmosphere mist pervades the island skies. The highlands of the larger islands are kept green and lush while the sea level islands and shorelines have little precipitation. This period is known for its blue skies and mid-day showers, however the air and water temperature are cooler and the sea is choppier. Air temperatures range between 70°-79°F (21°-26°C), while the temperature in the water hovers right around a pleasant 73°F (23°C). If you are prone to a chill, bring a wetsuit for snorkeling.
A Galapagos wildlife highlight in November is that you may get to see sea lion pups starting to play in the water. The sea lions are born in August, but they start really venturing into the sea by November. The pups are particularly playful, and they enjoy playing with the humans who are snorkeling in the water as they are very curious. This can be a fabulous, once in a lifetime experience. It is also giant tortoise season and many live right on the property where we will be staying. We will get to practice yoga while watching them roam around.
Fill your cup and renew your spirit on one of our yoga retreats. Enjoy a beautiful locale, high quality yoga, and nutritious meals. Just show up to renew and recalibrate.
Make your deposit online to reserve your room and then contact the studio to set up monthly payments.
We are flexible and want to work with you in terms of monthly payments. Please note that there will be an upcharge in total cost for payment plans because of extra credit card fees incurred (approximately $100 difference).

About Semilla Verde Boutique Hotel
Semilla Verde is situated on the fertile slopes of an ancient and extinct volcano in the rural uplands of Santa Cruz Island that itself is located in the heart of the Galapagos Archipelago that lies six-hundred miles west of Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean, South America.
The lodge exists in the fresh, humid ‘scalesia’ zone, two hundred plus meters above sea level and 12 km from the dock in Puerto Ayora (12-15 minutes by taxi). There is considerably more rainfall than the lowlands, hence the abundance of greenery, but offers a fresh respite from the scorching equatorial sun. And, pure pacific rainwater showers!
The grounds of Semilla Verde comprise twelve acres (five hectares) of private forest replanted with endemic and native trees, under which organic, shade grown ‘conservation coffee’ is growing.
The lodge is nestled within this forest and has balconies and terraces that peer out over the top of it, with majestic, panoramic views to the Galapagos National Park, Galapagos Marine Reserve and outlying islands.
Join Morgan for 8 days and 7 nights to explore the Galapagos Islands. Each day we will not only practice yoga (1-2 times) but explore the many islands of the Galapagos. This is more than just a yoga retreat; it is a bucket list trip of a lifetime. Come together for shared yoga (meditation, reflection, journaling, upbeat flow classes, and workshop-like alignment practices), animal and water adventures, amazing connections, and an opportunity to discover the unique world of the Galapagos.
