Orozco Santos began practicing yoga and meditation in Mexico in 1995 with Ananda Marga Yoga, a socio-spiritual organization founded in Jamalpur, Bihar, India, by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar in 1955 with the mission of "Self-Realization and Service to Humanity." Her Rajadhiraja Yoga practice integrates practices for personal and collective liberation. She receives ongoing personal lessons transmitted orally in the teacher-to-student tradition with the acharyas of Ananda Marga, and also cross-pollinates with other lineages and schools. Rubi is an experienced, Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500) with Yoga Alliance, the international yoga professional organization. She is also a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT®), Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), Certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor, Certified ChildLight Yoga Instructor (Baby and Toddler Yoga), and Certified Restorative Yoga instructor. She has practiced and trained in additional approaches including trauma-informed yoga and accessible yoga. In her classes, Rubi will invite you to move and breathe safely and with choice to cultivate mind-body presence, discovery, joy, growth, and deep rest. Along the way, you may be offered mantras, mudras, yoga philosophy, and visualizations to empower your personal home practice.
Rubi is also a poet and storyteller focused on Mexican heritage foodways with a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Texas at El Paso.
DEB, is a passionate teacher & practitioner focused on inspiring growth, spreading love, and cultivating presence through awareness. She believes in the power of yoga and its ability to promote mental, emotional, & physical health, just as it does for her. Through a combination of alignment & energetic based cues Deb encourages vulnerability & curiosity to turn inward while exploring the physical self without judgment. With the intent to take your practice off the mat she offers positive affirmation based practices in which you will move creatively & consciously with your body while remaining mindful of your breath.
Having began her yoga practice in 2010 with gym yoga, Deb quickly fell in love and picked up a regular studio practice. In the summer of 2015, she received her 200hr YTT certification via Yoga Alliance and shortly after began teaching part-time. Deb attended her first meditation retreat in 2017 and has continued to meditate regularly ever since, determined to explore the different limbs of yoga. In 2019, she completed her 300hr YTT with Morgan Mazza at Surya Yoga. Deb teaches yoga full-time and is determined to help others help themselves.
Her background is in wedding planning & festival production, she is bilingual (Spanish & English) and has a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management with an emphasis in special events from the University of Houston - Conrad N. Hilton College. Deb enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and playing with their 2 dogs & cat.
ADRIANA began practicing yoga about 7 years ago, but feels that she didn't really begin to understand it until recently. She is now extremely passionate about the overall mind, body, and spiritual connection that yoga brings in practice and philosophy. For Adriana, yoga is place where she can go to find herself in the midst of chaos related to daily life. She hopes to give the same sense of connection and pace in her classes, as well as an understanding of the asana practice and alignment.
In her own practice, Adriana finds most joy in that connection of the self to the self, and an overall acceptance and appreciation of life and living in the moment. She hopes to do this through her classes that offer challenges to push personal limits, both physically and mentally, while helping others know to live yoga both on and off the mat. Adriana completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training led by Morgan Mazza at Surya Yoga Studio in October of 2018, and will continue to commit to learning more about yoga in the 300 hour teaching training in 2019 at Surya.
Adriana holds a Master's degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction), and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who provides therapy based on applied behavior analysis to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is a proud mom to a pitbull mix and a small kitten. She loves traveling, music, art, animals, and yoga!
DEBBI’s yoga journey began in 2011 when her then teenage daughter wanted to attend a class and pressed Debbi to join her so as not to go alone. Little did Debbi know that would turn into a passion and a never-ending quest to learn more. Her passion grew from the initial challenge of the physical poses to understanding the marriage of movement with breath to the strength and steadiness she discovered in herself. She has drawn on these resources to face life’s challenges from a more rooted and peaceful place. These are the resources she strives to bring to her classes; challenging but meaningful movement with breath to build strength and confidence, health and wellbeing.
Debbi has not stopped practicing since she began. In December of 2016, Debbi stepped into Surya Yoga and knew it was a special place. At Surya, surrounded by amazing teachers and practitioners, Debbi’s practice grew stronger and took on an even deeper meaning in her life. In October 2018 she completed the 200HR Yoga Teacher Training under Morgan Mazza. She is currently pursuing the Warriors at Ease certification and will participate in Surya’s first 300HR Yoga Teacher Training.
Debbi is a proud mother of three and a US Army veteran. She holds a BA in Spanish and Military Science from UTEP and an MA in Logistics Management from Webster University.
KANDY Aboud (Tattwamayi) received her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2005 and her 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training through YAMA (Yoga, Ayurveda and Meditation Arts) Therapeutics in 2010. She also completed an Ayurvedic Wellness Coaching Certificate in 2011. She has been practicing yoga for 10 years and made her first trip to India to the Sivananda Ashram in Rikhia Peeth with other yoga teachers in October 2010 for a Chakra Sadhana Retreat . She went back to Mother India for the World Yoga Convention in Munger at the Bihar Yoga Bharati and back to Rikhia for a Prana Vidya Retreat. She received Mantra Diksha in 2010 and received her spiritual name of Tattwamayi from Sw. Satyasangananda Saraswati at that time. She received diksha for jignasu sannyasa (spiritual seeker) from Sw. Niranjanananda Saraswati in 2013. She is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by profession. A member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and Yoga Alliance, she provides individual yoga therapy as well as restorative yoga, beginner yoga and yoga nidra (yogic sleep) classes and workshops. She brings a spiritual quality to her yoga classes, incorporating pranayama (breathing), mudras (seals), chakras (energy centers) and meditation all in the Satyananda Yogic Tradition of India.

SRI, RYT® 200, was born and raised in Bandung, Indonesia. After graduating college, she came to the U.S. to continue her education and received her MBA from the University of Denver. For the past 20 years, she, her husband, and their daughter have made El Paso their home.
In 2009, after three years of practicing yoga, she completed the CorePower Yoga Certification and found her passion in sharing her practice with others. Sri has been leading classes ever since, and over time, her style has gradually expanded from an energized fast-paced flow to gentle flow and form practices. In spring of 2017, Sri completed her 200 hour YTT Certification at Surya Yoga.
Sri believes in the importance of physical activities and mental relaxation in order to achieve optimal health and well-being. Throughout her experience as an instructor and a student, yoga has taught her how to breathe, relax, be patient, and love herself and others. Passionate to share the joy she has found in yoga, she strives to make her classes an inclusive experience for people of all backgrounds and levels of expertise. She believes that everyone should have options to find their own style of practice that allows them to achieve their fullest happiness.
Sri is excited to guide both gentle flow and form classes with emphasis on alignment and breath in peaceful, calm, and relaxing atmosphere. Through each practice, she hopes to help her students restore balance and spread positive energy with others around them in their daily lives.

MORGAN is passionate about creating space where students can cultivate personal power through the challenge of asana. She believes in asana as a physical vehicle for transformation of mind and spirit. Originally drawn to yoga to reduce stress and to get a physical “workout,” she understands the many doors that can open the path to the larger Yoga. From her first class at a gym she sensed there was more to it than just the physical, and her path continues to lead her to what that “more” truly is; towards the essence of both yoga and her Self.
Morgan uses alignment-based classes (both flow and form) to draw attention to habits and tendencies in a self-discovery process. Student empowerment surfaces through the cultivation of this awareness. Each student is invited to challenge his/her own edge in the safety of Morgan’s guidance. In carefully crafted classes, students are guided into challenging physical postures but asked to journey inward to look at their own reactions, tap into their strength, and become present. She believes each class is an offering of her knowledge and experience in an effort to invoke a process of transformation in students.
After 5 years of steady practice, she embarked on the Be Shri Yoga teacher training program (Greenwich, CT) where she received her 200hr certification. Several years later, in the spring of 2015, she attended a workshop that set her on a path that would change the way she both practices and teaches. After her first weekend workshop with Christina Sell, she became determined to continue to study with her. Morgan credits Christina for her shift to clearer and more targeted teachings, both on and off the mat. She completed the 300hr Alchemy of Flow and Form Advanced Teacher Training Program at the San Marcos School of Yoga with Christina Sell and Gioconda Parker. Morgan is also the lead teacher of the Surya Yoga Teacher Training Program where she shares her passion for teaching with teacher trainees.
Morgan spent 16 years in the northeast but returned to her hometown of El Paso in the fall of 2013 to open Surya Yoga. She holds a BFA in theater arts and a Masters degree in education. She spent several years acting in NYC and seven years teaching fourth grade in Connecticut. Her life has led her to share her voice in many different capacities, and she is grateful to be able to help expand the yoga community in her hometown.
LAVON sought a counterbalance to running and lifting weights, so she began practicing yoga about 5 years ago. Her passion for yoga grew as she experienced the increased strength and balance, both on and off her mat, that her yoga practice brought her.
After finding Surya Yoga Studio and practicing there for several months, she completed the 200hr yoga teacher training there and became a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. She is continuing her education in 2020 with the 300hour advanced yoga teacher training.
She’s eager to share the many benefits yoga can offer individuals of all ages and stages in life.
CASANDRA and the yogic lifestyle go naturally together. Her yoga practice began in 2001 and has evolved throughout the years. With a passion for learning the various styles of the art form, she completed her teacher training at Radiantly Alive in Bali Indonesia, studying under the tutelage of Daniel Aaron. She also holds a certification in Kids Yoga Teacher Training from Jodi Komitor of Next Generation Yoga and a Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Sebastian Pucelle & Murielle Burellier. Her classes are Vinyasa Flow based, often infused with a smidge from other styles and techniques that include Ashtanga, Jivamukti, Iyengar, Bhakti, Tripsichore, Anusara and Restorative. Also, Pranayama, Meditation, Ayurveda and Chanting are a part of her life.
Although always focused on alignment of the Asana practice, her greatest love of Yoga comes from experiencing the internal aspect of it, the spiritual and transformational effect it has on oneself. Expect to sweat, laugh, learn and start to see things differently as you walk out from one of her classes. Feel the Yoga high!
Additionally, she continues to travel extensively in order to expand her knowledge by training with other world class teachers including Edward Clark, Damien De Bastier, Alanna Kaivalya, Deborah Williamson and Tias & Surya Little.
She holds a B.A. of Communication Advertising, a Master in Brand Management from Polimoda in Florence Italy and speaks four fluent languages.

SHANNAN’s passion for yoga stemmed from an early age of training in dance and gymnastics. During her college years in Austin, Texas she was exposed to her first yoga classes and quickly realized that it can serve as a dynamic segue from her years of training in a studio setting. Technique, discipline, flexibility and self-expression were all qualities of dance that she could carry on to her practice in yoga. Quickly after falling in love with the practice she recognized a deeper calling and decided to pursue her training as an instructor. Shannan trained heavily with a dynamic Vinyasa-based studio in Dallas, Texas called We Yogis. It was there where she obtained her 200 hour certification in July of 2016 under the direction of Cheryl Oliver, Gina Dunn, and Nicolle Callahan. Since then she has taught in studios while living in Dallas, eventually moved back to her hometown of El Paso and has continued her teaching locally.
Shannan teaches energetic, quick-paced flows with creative transitions centered around proper alignment and breath control. Additionally, she recognizes yoga as a gift that extends far beyond just the physical practice with a true belief that if you allow it, yoga can positively transform your mind, body and soul. She feels privileged to teach within her community and is excited to witness the empowerment that yoga will bring to her students!

PARAMDAYAL is a Certified Kundalini Yoga & Meditation Teacher as taught by Yogi Bhajan and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance and the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA) and the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). Paramdayal is also a Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher in Conscious Pregnancy and Yoga for children with Autism, Anxiety, PTSD and Depression through Yoga Alliance.
After working many years in the international corporate world in Public Relations and Business Development for Self Development and Spiritual programs in Hong Kong, Asia Pacific and North America, Paramdayal knew she had learned a plethora of valuable wisdoms that could help bring people deep healing and home within their heart and soul.
She has met and worked with spiritual leaders from around the world from who she took powerful courses that provided deep healing and profound transformation within herself, expanding her knowledge and experiences to provide positive shifts for her students.
She is answering to the call of making a difference in her community through producing conscious awareness events and teaching Kundalini Yoga and Meditation classes.
Paramdayal's purpose is to compasionately contribute to the love and healing the world is in great need of.

SUSAN, a devoted practitioner and student, is known for her integrated alignment based yoga teachings. Her classes combine elements of the practice including asana, pranayama and meditation. Her enthusiastic instruction is precise, educational and is infused with practical ideas for bringing the yoga practice into everyday living. She encourages students to discover their own unique qualities by becoming more curious and awake in their lives.
Susan is an E-RYT® 500 teacher who began her journey in the tradition of Iyengar yoga with Carol Carnes Johnson, the yoga pioneer in El Paso. She then discovered Anusara® yoga and became certified as Anusara-Inspired®. She is also certified as a Wisdom Warrior™ teacher—yoga for practitioners over 50 who want to continue a dynamic practice. She has studied extensively with Desiree Rumbaugh and Andrew Rivin. Through the years she has trained with Tiffany Wood, Bea Doyle, Martin Kirk, Ellen Saltonstall, Jill Miller, Sianna Sherman and Elena Brower.
Susan is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist with a master’s degree in that field. She and her family can be found cooking, hiking and traveling together.
